"Regional wine shows have ebbed and flowed over the years, with some having been eclipsed by the Winegrowers’ national event and those run by magazines, which give much wider exposure for producers.
However, the provincial events, some of which are run in association with A&P shows, others by provincial wine associations, still have much merit. One benefit, in addition to celebrating the
regions’ wine prowess, is that they provide good feedback to new wineries and less experienced winemakers, who can feel pushed to one side at the bigger shows. They also provide a regional bonding opportunity, as the shows are generally followed by a dinner attended by the great and the good of the regional wine world."
